where I come fromRoots strong enough to travel far
I come from Mendoza, beneath the Andes. Its mountains, my family and a deep sense of belonging gave me roots strong enough to fly far without losing where I began.
TRAVELLER · RESEARCHER · STORYTELLER · CONNECTOR
MORE THAN A BIOGRAPHY
I have travelled through more than 50 countries and lived in six. Along the way, I studied and worked across law, research, international development, social justice and the nonprofit sector.
Yet the experiences that shaped Julimapea happened beyond offices and universities: in shared meals, long journeys, difficult interviews, community projects and conversations that challenged what I thought I knew. They taught me to approach every place with questions, context and respect.
THE JOURNEY BEHIND JULIMAPEA
From the roots that ground me to the places that changed how I travel, research and listen: these are the chapters that brought me here.
where I come fromI come from Mendoza, beneath the Andes. Its mountains, my family and a deep sense of belonging gave me roots strong enough to fly far without losing where I began.
strangers became guidesIn 2013 I moved to Uberlândia to study. Living abroad introduced me to a different way of travelling: sharing ordinary life, trusting new connections and discovering a place through those who called it home.
a base between journeysDenmark became my base for six years and the place where I studied African Studies. It gave me new ways to question history, power and representation—and a steady point from which to keep moving.
listen before interpretingI lived in Sierra Leone for seven months, travelling around the country and conducting interviews—including with women in correctional centres. Listening to their experiences made research personal, accountable and impossible to separate from dignity.
the slower routeTravelling by bicycle made every kilometre tangible. Weather, effort and small encounters became part of how I read the landscape.
home on wheelsA van became a home and the road across Australia and Tasmania became a classroom. Distance, solitude, unexpected friendships and changing landscapes taught me to make the journey part of the destination.
the present chapterToday the road leads through Indonesia and Borneo. The questions, encounters and ways of listening gathered across every earlier chapter now shape the research, stories and connections behind Julimapea.
