LOCAL IMPACT ALLIANCECONNECT · RESEARCH-LED DISCOVERY

THE NEXT PHASE OF JULIMAPEA

From places worth visiting to places that help their communities thrive.

Julimapea is first building a useful, trustworthy map. The next phase will turn some of that traveller attention into recurring, visible support for the people caring for each place.

PHASE 01 · HAPPENING NOW

Build and test the knowledge layer

We are adding tourism and cultural places, verifying practical information, finding overlooked stories, mapping trusted Ethical Bridge organisations and testing what genuinely helps travellers make better choices.

PHASE 02 · NEXT

Build the partnership layer

We will invite restaurants, hotels, tour operators, shops and other employers to form transparent, place-based partnerships with vetted local organisations — then make those relationships discoverable on Julimapea.

Tourism already moves attention and money. The question is where that value stays.

Local organisations understand local priorities. Businesses have customers, purchasing power, space, skills and recurring income. Ethical Bridge can identify credible organisations; Julimapea can connect the partnership to the places travellers are already exploring. The aim is not occasional charity, but practical relationships designed locally and sustained over time.

THE MODEL

01

Map

Build the destination layer and learn what travellers need.

02

Listen

Organisations define priorities, limits and useful forms of support.

03

Match

Businesses meet partners whose geography and values genuinely fit.

04

Agree

Both sides document the contribution, responsibilities and timing.

05

Show & report

Julimapea makes the partnership visible and publishes a simple result.

SIMPLE PARTNERSHIPS BY IMPACT AREA

Start with something real and achievable.

A responsible partnership does not need to begin with a complicated programme. It can start with one job, one shelf, one event or one practical agreement shaped with a trusted local organisation.

Disability, access & inclusion

A pathway into work

A hotel, restaurant or shop partners with a disability organisation to offer one supported job, internship or work trial, with adaptations agreed before the person starts.

SIMPLE START · one role + one support contact

Art with a route to market

A museum, cultural centre or hotel exhibits and sells work created through a disability organisation. The artist sets the price and receives the agreed income from every sale.

SIMPLE START · one exhibition or retail shelf

Women & gender equity

A shelf for women-led work

A shop, hotel or museum stocks products made by a women’s organisation or women-led cooperative and buys them at an agreed fair price.

SIMPLE START · one product line

Skills that open a door

A business offers a small number of mentoring sessions, practice interviews or training places to women referred by a specialist organisation.

SIMPLE START · one short cohort

Culture, heritage & identity

Local makers in the visitor experience

A hotel or restaurant commissions textiles, prints, music or objects from a cultural organisation instead of using generic décor.

SIMPLE START · one paid commission

A community-led evening

A venue hosts a talk, performance or workshop designed by a local cultural group. The group controls the story, ticket conditions and payment.

SIMPLE START · one event

Climate & environmental protection

Adopt one practical action

A business works with an environmental organisation on one achievable change: refill water, remove one disposable item, improve separation or restore a nearby site.

SIMPLE START · one change with a baseline

A day for the place

Employees receive a paid day to join an activity requested and organised by a conservation group, with the business covering the organisation’s preparation costs.

SIMPLE START · one useful team day

Children, health & community care

A useful collection point

A business becomes a permanent collection point for a short, organisation-approved list of needed items — avoiding unwanted donations.

SIMPLE START · one current needs list

A day’s sales for local care

A café or restaurant selects one day or product and contributes a clearly stated amount to a local health, youth or family-support organisation.

SIMPLE START · one product + fixed amount

Livelihoods & economic opportunity

Buy locally through an organisation

A restaurant, hotel or shop regularly purchases food, amenities or gifts from a social enterprise or community producer supported by an organisation.

SIMPLE START · one recurring supplier

One business problem, one volunteer skill

An employee helps solve one task chosen by the organisation — a spreadsheet, menu translation, photograph, poster or simple website update.

SIMPLE START · one defined deliverable

A SIMPLE STANDARD

What keeps a partnership responsible?

  1. 01The organisation identifies what would genuinely help and can always say no.
  2. 02The agreement states the action, responsibilities, dates and any payment clearly.
  3. 03People and organisations are paid fairly when they provide work, products or expertise.
  4. 04No person, story or image is shared without informed consent.
  5. 05The business communicates only what actually happened — without exaggerating impact.
  6. 06The collaboration never excuses poor employment, damaging sourcing or environmental harm.
  7. 07Both sides can review, change or end the agreement.

PHASE 02

A pilot before a promise

Phase two will begin with a small number of organisations and businesses. Together, they will test contribution models, reporting and traveller communication before Julimapea scales the approach to new destinations.
